Beard - Mustache Transplantation

Beard - Mustache Transplantation

Bearded youngsters have been at the forefront in movies and TV series recently, bringing beard and mustache transplantation to the fore. This cultivation, which is very popular not only by Turkish men but also by Arab men, should be grouped into three groups as beard, mustache and favorite.

In the beard and mustache area of men, the hair follicles taken from the scalp are transplanted to the areas where there is no hair or where it is seen very rarely. The point to be noted here is that the hair in the nape region is used as a donor in beard-mustache transplantation. As with hair, mustaches also have exit directions. Mustaches have curves. In beards, there are turns in the middle region and bends in the side region. For this reason, it is necessary to pay attention to the aspects and angles of each planting place. As in eyebrow transplantation, channels should be opened at certain angles of 5-10 degrees.

Can it be applied to men with corners?
Beard and mustache transplantation is a method that can be applied to patients who have no beard and mustache on their face, which is called corner. In this way, hair and mustache transplantation was successfully applied to many Arab and Far Eastern patients who came to our clinic.

However, the fact that the patient to be transplanted is brunette or blonde does not affect the treatment process in any way. It is also necessary to analyze the patients with different colors of hair and beard. It is useful to warn the patient about the possible outcome beforehand.

How is beard and mustache transplantation done?
Beard and mustache transplantation is a one-session procedure performed under local anesthesia. It is a painless procedure that takes approximately 4-5 hours. On the next day of the procedure, some small crusts can be seen in the transplanted area. But it soon passes. The hairs at the ends of the transplanted roots are shed after 15 days. This is a normal process. After three months, the hairs start to grow again. Within 6 to 8 months, the patient will have the desired beard and mustache.
