Eyebrow Transplantation

Eyebrow Transplantation

Eyebrow transplantation is one of the most preferred treatment methods, especially by women. Because women regularly and constantly pluck their eyebrows, a phenomenon called spitting takes place on their eyebrows. Eyebrows lose thickness and volume in their youth. With eyebrow transplantation, it is possible to reach the old volume and thickness of the eyebrows. Eyebrows can also be lost due to traumas, burns and accidents. In these patient groups, eyebrow transplantation is successfully applied.

How is eyebrow transplantation performed?
Eyebrow transplantation operation is performed with the logic of FUE hair transplantation. The procedure, performed under local anesthesia, takes 3-4 hours. Roots taken from the nape area are used in eyebrow transplantation. These roots need to be placed in the area to be transplanted at a certain angle and in a certain direction. Hair follicles emerge from the skin at an angle of 45 degrees. Eyebrows are very different. They come out of the skin at an angle of about 10-15 degrees. They have a shape that is directed upwards in the inner part of the eyebrow, parallel to the ground as they reach the middle, and slightly downwards in the outer part of the eyebrow. Therefore, care must be taken when opening channels during planting. Otherwise, when the eyebrow is planted incorrectly, it may come out differently, in the opposite direction or downward. For this reason, eyebrow transplantation is a procedure that must be performed by a specialist doctor.

What are the points to be considered after the treatment?
It is possible to see very small, pinhead-sized crusts in the planting area for a week. However, since these crusts shed rapidly, they do not prevent the patient from returning to his daily life and work. It is recommended that the person who has had eyebrow transplantation not enter the sea or pool for two weeks, not be exposed to intense sunlight, not have a solarium, and avoid intense sports.

Does eyebrow transplantation help shape?
With this method, it is possible to give the desired shape to the eyebrow. It can be done during eyebrow transplantation to make the pointed eyebrow blunt, to make the head part thick, to give a straight shape to the curved eyebrow.

When do eyebrows grow after eyebrow transplantation?
It starts to emerge after 3 months after planting. At the end of a period of approximately 7-8 months, the eyebrows take their final shape. It should also be noted that after the eyebrows are planted, they begin to fall out after 15 days, just like the hair. The shedding process continues for up to 3 months. After the 3rd month, there is no question of eyebrows falling out.

Since the root is taken from the hair on the nape during eyebrow transplantation, they grow as fast as hair. For this reason, it is beneficial to trim the ends by cutting them at 15-day intervals. At the end of one year, the eyebrows adapt to the characteristics of the place where they are transplanted and their growth rate slows down. The need for trimming is reduced. After 1 year, as the eyebrows will start to gain the characteristics of the place where they were transplanted, their growth rate will slow down and the need for this cutting and correction will gradually decrease.
